Long Field Trip to Govardhan Eco Village
25th to 28th September, 2014
IFFS students went for a field trip to Govardhan Ecovillage which is located around 100km from Mumbai at the foothills of the Sahyadri mountains. The students were involved in organic farming, trekking to the nearby mountains, learning the process of milking cows as well as how the cow shed functions. Students also visited the Bio (cow dung) gas plant and learnt about new ways in which gas for cooking as well as other activities are provided from this plant.
Kirtan which took place every evening after dinner was actively participated in by all the students and staff. They played outdoor games to increase their concentration level, creativity, team-work with games such as building a tower, scavenger hunt etc. They had an enlightened interactive inspirational session called ‘Open Heart’ which speaks about the human values.
